¡Machete al Machote! ~ Cut the Patriarchy! ~ Tin Hanger #1

Machete al Machote is a feminist call to activism that means, “Machete to the Macho.” To end the male chauvinistic rule that has not fairly or equally represented women for decades, in this country and worldwide. As the rights of women are chipped away daily and our daughters and granddaughters have fewer rights than we did, it’s time to CUT the PATRIARCHY or, Machete al Machote!

This is a high-resolution print of my original Loteria artwork created for Cactus Gallery's 2026 Loteria Exhibit. It a wonderful annual event held online by Cactus Gallery that is a new vision of the traditional Loteria deck by Don Gallo. My Loteria card of choice was #99, El Machete.

The print is adhered to a 3/4" woodblock and then wrapped in aluminum tooling foil that is embellished and then coated in a clear coat sealant to protect and maintain the vibrant color.

Please keep in mind that these tin hangers can be damaged if they are dropped. The metal can bend or become scarred, so make sure to hang your tin hanger somewhere clear of that possibility. They are easily wiped clean with a soft cloth. Like all artwork, they do require some gentle care to avoid scratches and mild damage.

Size is 4-1/2" x 5-1/2". Signed on the back and ready to hang.
