Original Painting ~ ¡Machete al Machote! ~ Cut the Patriarchy!

Machete al Machote is a feminist call to activism that means, “Machete to the Macho.” To end the male chauvinistic rule that has not fairly or equally represented women for decades, in this country and worldwide. As the rights of women are chipped away daily and our daughters and granddaughters have fewer rights than we did, it’s time to CUT the PATRIARCHY or, Machete al Machote!

This original painting is created using metallic acrylic paint on a 9x12 canvas board. I paint many subjects in my artwork, but my political works are always the most raw and passionate. These works are my way to express extreme emotions in a somewhat healthy way and to connect with other people who feel the frustration and the fear and the anger that has come from a society that has been complicit with crimes against women for too long.

I rage. Therefore, I paint.

The frame is very distressed (yeah, kinda beat up, but that's what I wanted) and hand painted.
